Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial musician and singer who blends folk gospel, soul and R&B in her signature blend. She's performed all over from Broadway and the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Though she's from Atlanta but her origins are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she initially began her journey as musician through playing guitar and singing in the church. She attended Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her education at the heart of Atlanta's R&B scene. The first track featuring her voice was called Stalk You A Japanese-influenced house 12 song. Since then, it has been remixed and is included in her set. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. The band was hired as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's production Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 about serving as the Choral Director for Dreamgirls which was a stage production that was part of Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition for her daily shows during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She got invited to perform during President Obama's 2008 inaugural.
