Jenna-Louise Coleman has been a British actor for many years. Her most well-known role is as Clara Oswald, the character she played on Doctor Who. When she was a kid Coleman started her acting career when she was a member with Yer Space. She was one of the characters in Crystal Clear in the Edinburgh Festival. The show received critical acclaim, as well as Coleman received the award in recognition of her performances. Coleman received her first major breakthrough when she was offered the part in the role of Jasmine Thomas in the soap show Emmerdale during 2005. Her appearances on the soap show continued until the year 2009. Her role as Jasmine Thomas earned her a nomination for Most Popular Young Actress at the National Television Awards in 2006. Coleman made her film debut in 2011 when she played Connie in Captain America: The First Avenger. Coleman's biggest opportunity to show her versatility came when she accepted the invitation to play the former British monarch Queen Victoria in ITV's Victoria. Coleman's acting career has progressed from the role of Lindsay James, a young girl in the BBC series Waterloo Road, to portraying an empress in the role of Victoria.
